Amy Stelling is absolutely thrilled to have the privilege to return to Bay View for her fourth season as director of youth ministries.  Although she will miss working as co-director with Caroline Mogavero, she looks forward to continuing her work with Bay View’s youth this season. Her experience in the past three years has really allowed her to see the ways in which God can use the youth group not only to reveal himself to Bay View’s teens and pre-teens, but also to provide endless opportunities for good times with good friends. She cannot wait to further develop her existing relationships as well as start some new ones this season. Amy is currently finishing up her junior year at the University of North Carolina where she studies dramatic arts, international studies and French. She still loves being a Tar Heel, especially when basketball season rolls around. Besides attending as many games as she can, Amy stays busy getting involved in theatre, singing in an acappella group, teaching fitness classes, participating in Bible studies, and hanging out with her eight roommates. She truly cherishes this time to enjoy the college life and will hate to see it end. She has certainly been blessed.

The Youth program will continue to offer weekly Sunday School, youth group, and Bible study meetings. Youth Sunday school will be offered at 9:30 a.m. in Loud Hall for all boys and girls 11 years old and up.  After a short time of food and fellowship, the youth will participate in games, activities and Bible study centering on a weekly topic. Specifically, this year’s curriculum focuses on what it means to have a relationship with God, and how that affects our relationships with others and with ourselves. Lessons include such themes as how God talks to us, how to deal with temptation, and how to care for God’s world. At the large-group Wednesday gatherings, the youth will let loose, unwind and most likely get messy with their friends as they participate in games, team-builders and casual lessons. Bible study will offer the opportunity for a more in-depth look at faith in a more intimate setting.
